Restaurant chain, Ontario

Carlisle and Prince Castle brushes needed replacing every 1 to 2 months. At one location, a broken bristle from a consumer-grade brush turned up in the owner's food.

A CHEF Felton sample brush was still in service 17 months after delivery, and kitchen managers recommended it across locations.

Distributor brushes lasted under 30 days and shed wire onto the grill.

In a side-by-side test the CHEF 100 lasted over 3x as long. Felton built the CHEF 101 around the chain's feedback and set up direct email ordering for every location.

Hot Dip Galvanizing Line

Engineering survey and training, 8-month audit

Brushes lasted 90 days and performance varied by shift. The survey found five contributing factors, and only one involved the brush.

Brush life tripled from three months to nine and throughput improved 15% on the same line.

Continuous Galvanizing Line: Coating Quality

Engineering survey

Fish eyes, uncoated spots, and rising warranty claims with brush life at 3 to 4 months. The root cause was solution temperature, not the brushes.

After heat exchanger upgrades and a new brush system, brush life ran 12 to 15 months and warranty claims decreased.

Continuous Galvanizing Line: Filtration and ROI

Engineering survey and ROI model, implementation underway

Six-week pump-outs had become the line's main method of contamination control. Four days on site produced thirteen findings, with filtration the primary issue.

The customer received a thirteen-point roadmap and an ROI model covering chemicals, water, and waste treatment.

Engineering surveys for steel mill cleaning lines

The three steel mill studies above came from Maryland Brush engineering surveys. A survey starts with a virtual discovery call, runs one to four days on site, and ends with a written report with prioritized recommendations and ROI.
